Cinny-Sweet PB Toast on crispy sourdough is my spirit food. If I could be reincarnated into toast, I think I’d want to be this toast. It’s sweet, salty and cinny all in one bite. Simple yet packs a flavor punch. Expected yet refined. Smear your favorite gourmet or simple peanut butter onto a crispy sourdough slice for the perfect toast with espresso to start the day. Drizzled with honey and dusted with cinnamon.
The grocery list.
- sourdough bread, toasted– Sourdough is our favorite but white, wheat, oat, seeded, anything you want!
- peanut butter (mine had sea salt + chia seeds mixed in)– Talk about the possibilities with peanut butter, almond butter, nut butter spreads these days! Wow, wow, wow. The options are truly endless now and you can either go simple and staple with a classic spread (smooth or crunchy) or fancy it up with a gourmet blend. My favorite nut butters brands (plus a link to my favorite product from each) Justin’s, FATSO and Fix & Fogg. My pantry is always stocked with a variety!
- honey— If I’m using a gourmet spread with maple syrup or an added sweetness, maybe I skip the honey. BUT, you better believe if it’s simple spread there is going to be a heavy drizzle of honey across my slice of toast.
- cinnamon— Peanut butter, honey, cinnamon (and coffee in the morning!), there is nothing better. A light sprinkle is all you need.
