PB S’mores

If you’ve never replaced the chocolate in a s’more with a Reese’s peanut butter cup, you’re totally missing out! S’mores are a perfect summer treat, especially for the kids, and these PB S’mores are a fun way to experiment with pantry staples.

The grocery list.

The preparation.

I like to start every s’more by laying out my graham cracker halves with the peanut butter and chocolate already on them so I can sandwich the hot marshmallow right away when it’s done. This will give you nice soft melty chocolate. It also makes it easier for kids so they’re not trying to assemble their s’more while holding a piping hot and sticky marshmallow in one hand.

Lay out 6 graham crackers and place a piece of chocolate on top of each one. On the remaining 6 graham crackers, smear the peanut butter. I like to use a generous amount.

On a skewer or a long marshmallow roasting stick, place 1-2 marshmallows on the end. Roast until puffed and lightly charred (depending on your marshmallow preference) over an open flame. You can cook your marshmallows over a campfire or a stove, either will work!  Turn your skewer constantly to evenly roast the marshmallow.

Once the marshmallows have roasted, place them on top of the graham cracker with the chocolate. Use the graham cracker with the peanut butter to sandwich the marshmallow and carefully slide out the skewer. Eat up and enjoy!

Experimenting with s’mores.

S’mores are such a fun and classic summer treat and you can make them your own by experimenting with different ingredients. Use different types of chocolate, spread Nutella on one graham cracker, replace the graham crackers with cookies…the possibilities are endless!!
